So today I discovered something fun about the room we have designated as a podcasting studio. Actually it turns out it is true about all the rooms we could use as a studio.

So Lets say I talk like this into the microphone
So this was a fun experiment that I did as part of TRU’s Introductory Podcast Masterclass. I have a new Zoom H1N recorder and I walked around recording with it for a half day before I figured out that if there is a dial that goes between 1 and 10, you probably don’t want it set at 1. Especially if you happen catch some great audio of people evacuating for a fire alarm (don’t worry it was just some students with a fog machine). You also probably want to speak into the microphone, not hold it in front of you like a poisonous snake. Also, microphones pick up a lot of random noise. Do you know who makes random noise? Apparently I do. I also have a brand new Yeti Blue that I used for a couple parts of this and then strung it all together and overlapped parts in Garageband. I am basically the new Radiolab and I’m both incredibly proud and hate it so much.
